I’ve been using Temple Spa products since I was about 15 or so, and over the years I’ve built up some firm favourites. Obviously over time my staple products have changed as my skin and needs have changed but I’ve been using the majority of the products in this post for nearly 5 years now! Temple Spa is probably the most high end brand I regularly buy from because I don’t make enough money to splash out on much, but I think skin care is too important to skrimp and save on. I have combination skin, which means it is (annoyingly enough) simultaneously both dry and oily in different areas of my face, so obviously I use products to suit this.
My mum is a skincare consultant for Temple Spa, and I have to be honest, at first I was a little skeptical about the brand because when you are 15 you don’t want to like anything your mum likes! However I caved in and tried a few products out and haven’t looked back since.
Disclaimer: I’m not a skincare guru so this post is just my own opinion on a brand that I love, I know very little about skin care other than that I love this brand!
I’ve been using the same facial exfoliator, Breakfast Smoothie, for as long as I can remember. I’ve been told countless times that you should only exfoliate your face 3 or 4 times a week, but this exfoliator is so gentle and moisturising that I can’t help but use it nearly every day! I’m yet to find another cleanser or exfoliator that makes my super dry skin as smooth and supple as this one. It’s actually intended to be used by people with normal skin, but I’ve found that it really helps keep my often red and spotty skin under control. I also like that the actual exfoliating beads aren’t too harsh, it’s a very gentle exfoliation that smells absolutely heavenly! At £25, this is a little more pricey than I’d usually spend on cosmetics, but a little bit goes a long long way so it lasts for ages which makes it completely worth it in my eyes.
Another staple in my skincare routine is Moisture To Go. I have really dry skin so I need a really intensive moisturiser for my face, but most of the time I find that moisturisers for dry skin are too greasy or sticky for everyday use. However, this moisturiser feels almost
like a primer, it’s really lightweight and silky but still makes my face baby smooth. It’s lightweight enough to wear under makeup, but I wouldn’t say it makes my makeup last any longer if I’m honest. I went through 2 other Temple Spa moisturisers before I settled on this one, and I’m so glad I kept trying them out until I found it! This moisturiser is £32.
Something I couldn’t live without is Purification. This face mask is a deep cleansing treat and always leaves my skin in tip top condition. I’m not organised enough to use a face mask every week but when my skin is feeling especially neglected I’ll put this on for a good half an hour or so and then wash it off in the shower. I always use this mask the day after I finish a show, because during show week I wear so much makeup and get so tired that my skin ends up looking dull with lots of spots and blackheads, and this mask always saves the day! I also really like that it stays moist whilst it’s on your skin so it doesn’t crack when it’s been on for a while. It clears up blackheads like you wouldn’t believe and when used with Moisture to Go, it leaves my skin feeling soft, smooth and blemish free. Purification is £25.
I’m not crazy about candles but a couple of Christmases ago I got mini versions of Blue Moon and Cherish the Love in my stocking and absolutely adore them. These aren’t actually for sale anymore but I so wish they were because my little stash is rapidly depleting! I don’t think I have a very heightened sense of smell because I usually can’t smell candles when they’re burning but these candles have a rich enough smell that it actually lingers for a while even after they’ve been blown out. Blue Moon is actually a family favourite, my brother is especially obsessed with it and has gone through what feels like hundreds of these candles! They don’t burn down too quickly and although rich, the smell they give off isn’t overpowering or off putting. The full size candles are £25 each, which is an absolute bargain considering how massive they are!
Temple Spa don’t just make skin care and spa therapy products, they actually have a cosmetic line too. I haven’t dabbled much in their makeup but I have been through countless bottles of their black nail polish! I only ever wear black on my fingernails and therefore have bought from tonnes of brands before, but nothing has ever come close to my love for Temple Spa’s Noir Nail Treat. It is glossy, very pigmented and stays put without chipping for days. It also dries very quickly so double coating doesn’t take long at all. To keep it in place for even longer I use Sorrento, which is a base and top coat. At any given time, I can almost guarantee that I’ll have Cassius (my favourite name of any nail polish ever) on my toenails, which is a stunning dark maroon colour. Each nail treat is £9.50, which is an absolute steal for such a high end brand!
There are plenty of other products that I love but I wanted to focus on my favourites. I also regularly use Toning Essence, an all natural toner, My Goodness, a lightweight everyday moisturiser, Sugar Buff, a really gentle body scrub (perfect for getting stubborn fake tan off!), Go Figure, an anti-cellulite gel, Duvet, easily the most luxurious body moisturiser I’ve ever used, and Ahhhh!, which is a sooting balm for aching limbs, something I love using after a dance rehearsal or during show week.
I’m sure this won’t be my last Temple Spa blog post because I’m obsessed with this brand! I hope you’ve enjoyed this post, if you’re interesting in trying any of these products then you can find the Temple Spa website here.
Happy birthday Mum! Love you.
Ps, as you can see here, my Dad loves it too! Hahaha!
